Blurring the line between Work and Play

Eat, Sleep, Work… Play?

I enjoy eating, eating replenishes me.  When I eat, I feel healthier… well, most of the time.  Sleeping is an interesting thing.  I don’t love it, but I need it… when I sleep I feel restored.

Work.  The apple dictionary defines work as, “activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result”…  in what other area of life do I exert effort to reach a purpose or result?  Play.  Whether it’s taking pictures, making a short film, jogging around the neighborhood, or even reading a book, according to the dictionary, I am “working”…  I love to do these things.  That’s not what I was told about “work”!

I was brought up in society that had two sort of conflicting ideas…  One, I would work until I was 60 and then I would retire, finally…  Two, I would find something that I enjoyed, do it for a while before I got tired of it and then battle with myself about if I enjoyed it until I was 60… and then I would retire, finally…  Well I don’t like ether one of those.  I wanted to find something that I would love to do no matter how long I did it.

When I was 18, I decided not to got to college until I knew what I was meant to do… for me, that meant a lot of prayer and time.  After a long string of events, and by long I mean 5 years, I ended up working for Relentless Media Productions.  That 5 years is interesting, and I would be more than happy to tell anyone about it, but that’s not what this blog is about.  So…  I strive to make my work better everyday, to increase my knowledge, to help others become better at what they love to do…  Planning and scheduling for preproduction, production and post production and then executing each stage successfully is exciting for me!

And when I’m not at ‘work’.  Well, check it out.  I don’t do this at ‘work’, these are my hobbies, this is me at play, but they look quite simliar to… ahhh, what’s the word??? oh, work!
