Drew Janes in the Southeast Missouri Business Today

Drew Janes, owner of Relentless Media ProductionsMEET DREW JANES
[VISIONARY] by Callie Clark Miller

Drew Janes describes himself as an intercessor, an entrepreneur and a horrible singer – though not necessarily in that order. In 2002, he won a national wakeboarding championship. He enjoys everything from motorcross to snowboarding, and owns four companies with his wife. He was looking for a way to pay for film school when he started marketing group Relentless Media. Five years later, he hasn’t made it to film school, but the business is going stronger than he could ever have predicted.

ABOUT DREW JANES
Age: Old enough
About his family: I have an amazing wife and a golden retriever named Passenger
Originally from: Poplar Bluff, MO.

Sum up Relentless Media for me: What’s the company all about; where’d you get the idea to start a production company; and most of all, why the name “Relentless Media?”
Relentless Media Productions started about seven years ago. As a young man, I was disappointed in the way media was used and produced. I felt like excellent media in our area lacked tremendously and I had a passion to make a difference, no only in business but in people, through media excellence. We started with video production, then quickly moved into graphic design to cover branding and identity as well as print. After about two years of video and graphic we moved into web design and photography to wrap up our full-service marketing group. The name was given to me as I was praying to make a difference in my generation. I wanted to use my talents through the language of media, to speak to the heart of people. The name Relentless (steady, persistent, unremitting) was birthed from this desire.
Today, we have a staff of 10 of the most talented individuals I know. Their passion for excellence is what drives our company. Relentless Media Productions has clients from Hollywood to Albania. We call ourselves a creative marketing group as we function to help companies grow. We produce excellent marketing materials from HD video production, graphic and print design to web design and photography.

What’s your professional background?
It’s funny how this began. I was finishing my two-year general education at a local college with plans to attend a film school the following year. I decided to start this business to raise some money so I could pay the bill for the school. In our first year of business we did extremely well, so we went for year two, which made more money than what my college would cost. We went for year three and doubled it. Needless to say, I never looked back and we are now in business for our fifth year and our company doubles, and in some cases triples, every year.

Your original office was in Poplar Bluff; can you tell us about the recent expansion to Jackson?
When I lived in Poplar Bluff, my wife and I started our first office there. It was small, but we rapidly grew in the area and knew that we needed to expand sometime soon. Our three major industries that we work in are health care, financial and industrial. After talking with a friend in Jackson and visiting several times, we knew that Jackson had so much to offer a company like ours. It’s a great place to live and work and so much opportunity to grow, so we packed our bags and moved to Jackson to open our second office.
